128 Golfers, $18,000, and More Mulligans Than We Care to Count
The 2nd Annual One Real Impact Golf Classic is in the books, and it was everything we hoped it would be.
On October 19, 128 golfers showed up at Angel Park’s Mountain Course and raised more than $18,000 for the Impact Fund. That number is the headline, and it deserves to be. Every dollar goes to work supporting our community of Agents across the US and Canada.
But the number only tells part of it.
There were the closest-to-the-pin attempts that ended up nowhere near the pin. The long-drive contest that turned into a long-argument contest. The putting game where the rules got rewritten at least three times, all of them in someone’s favor. There was at least one shot that deserved a highlight reel and several that deserved to be forgotten, which is why mulligans were sold, and why we sold so many.
What stuck with us was the mix. First-timers playing alongside scratch golfers. Agents from different markets who met on the first tee and were texting tee times by the eighteenth. That’s the whole idea behind One Real Golf: the game makes it easy to build the kind of relationships that don’t happen over email.
Thank you to everyone who played, sponsored, volunteered, or donated a prize. Thank you to Angel Park for hosting us again. And a special thanks to Bruce Needle and the Golf Classic board, who turned a good idea into a real event two years running.
Year three is already in the works. If you missed this one, you’ll have another shot. No mulligan required.
